Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 118:82

Hamid ibn al-Rabi’ al-Khazzaz narrated to us, Sa’id ibn Abi Maryam al-Masri narrated to us, Nafi’ ibn Yazid narrated to us, from ‘Uqayl ibn Khalid, from Ibn Shihab, from Anas ibn Malik, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Indeed, Ayyub, the Prophet of Allah, was in his affliction for eighteen years. Both the near and the far abandoned him, except for two men from his brothers who were among his closest brothers. They used to go to him in the morning and return to him in the evening. One of them said to his companion, 'Do you know, by Allah, Ayyub has committed a sin that no one has ever committed.' His companion said, 'And what is that?' He said, 'For eighteen years, Allah has not had mercy on him to relieve him.' When they went to him, the man could not restrain himself until he mentioned that to him. Ayyub said, 'I do not know what he is saying, except that Allah knows that I used to pass by two men arguing and mentioning Allah, so I would return to my house and offer expiation for them, disliking that Allah be mentioned except in truth.'" He used to go out for his need, and when he finished his need, his wife would hold his hand until he reached [home]. One day, he was delayed for her. It was revealed to Ayyub in his place: "Strike with your foot; this is a cool washing place and a drink." She found him slow in coming, so she met him waiting. He approached her, and Allah had removed what was upon him of the affliction, and he was in the best state he had ever been. When she saw him, she said, "O blessed one of Allah, have you seen this afflicted Prophet of Allah? For by Allah, I have never seen anyone who resembles him more than you, when he was healthy." He said, "Indeed, I am he." He had two threshing floors: a threshing floor for wheat and a threshing floor for barley. Allah sent two clouds. When one of them was over the wheat threshing floor, it poured gold into it until it overflowed, and the other poured silver into the barley threshing floor until it overflowed.
