Hadith 3:105
Abu Khaythama narrated to us, 'A'idh ibn Habib narrated to us, 'Amir ibn al-Simt narrated to me, from Abu al-Ghurayf, who said: Water for ablution was brought to 'Ali. He rinsed his mouth and sniffed water into his nose three times, then he washed his face three times, and he washed his hands and his forearms three times each. Then he wiped his head and washed his feet. Then he said: "Thus I saw the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) perform ablution." Then he recited something from the Qur'an, then he said: "This is for one who is not in a state of major ritual impurity (junub). As for the one who is in a state of major ritual impurity, then no, by Allah."
