Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 3:110

Zakariya ibn Yahya al-Wasiti narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, al-Hajjaj informed us, from Salim al-Makki, from Ibn al-Hanafiyyah, from 'Ali, that he was asked about the description of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). He said: "He was neither short nor tall. He had handsome hair, [and was] well-proportioned. There was a redness in his face. He had large joints, and thick palms and feet. He had a large head. He had a long line of hair [extending from his chest to his navel]. I have not seen anyone like him before him or after him. When he walked, it was as if he were descending from a slope."
