Hadith 3:118

Ubayd Allah ibn Umar al-Qawariri, Muhammad ibn Abd Allah ibn Numayr, and Zuhayr ibn Harb narrated to us, they said: Waki’ narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Sa’d ibn Ubaydah, from Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami, from Ali, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) sent out a military detachment and appointed a man from the Ansar over them, and he commanded them to listen to him and obey him. They angered him regarding something, so he said: "Gather firewood for me." Then he said: "Kindle it," and they kindled it. Then he said: "Did the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) not command you to listen and obey?" They said: "Yes." He said: "Then enter it." They looked at one another and said: "We only fled to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) from the Fire." They remained as they were until his anger subsided and the fire went out. When they returned to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), they mentioned that to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). He said: "If they had entered it, they would never have come out of it. Obedience is only in what is good."
