Zakariya ibn Yahya narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Sa’d narrated to us, from his father, from Abdullah ibn Shaddad, who said: I heard Ali saying: I did not hear the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, combine his parents for anyone except Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas. For I heard him saying on the day of Uhud: "Shoot, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you."
