Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 3:182

'Abd al-A'la ibn Hammad narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from al-Hajjaj, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Harith, from 'Ali, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Fasting the month of patience (Ramadan) and three days of every month is fasting for the whole year, and it removes the malice of the chest."
