Narrated to us Isma'il, narrated to us Sharik, from Abu Hasin, from 'Umayr ibn Sa'id, from 'Ali, who said: "I would not have paid blood money for anyone upon whom I carried out a prescribed punishment (hadd), except for the drinker of wine. For the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not establish anything regarding it; it is merely something that we ourselves said."
