Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 3:26

Zuhayr and Ubayd Allah al-Qawariri narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Za'idah ibn Qudamah narrated to us, from Khalid ibn Alqamah al-Hamdani, from Abd Khayr, who said: Ali entered the Rahbah after he had prayed the dawn prayer, then he sat in the Rahbah. Then he said to a servant of his, "Bring me water for purification." The servant brought a vessel containing water and a basin. Abd Khayr said: And we were sitting, looking at him. He took the vessel with his right hand and tilted it over his left hand, then he washed his palms three times. Abd Khayr said: All of that, he would not put his hand into the vessel until he had washed it three times. Then he put his right hand into the vessel and filled his mouth with water, and he rinsed his mouth and snuffed water into his nose and blew it out with his left hand three times. Then he washed his face three times. Then he washed his right hand three times up to the elbow. Then he washed his left hand three times. Then he put his right hand into the vessel until the water covered it, then he lifted it with what it carried of water, then he wiped it with his left hand. Then he wiped his head with both of his hands together. Then he put his right hand into the vessel, then he poured onto his right foot and washed it three times with his left hand. Then he put his right hand into the vessel and filled it, then he poured with his right hand onto his left foot and washed it three times with his left hand. Then he put his right hand into the vessel and filled it with water, then he drank from it. Then he said: "This is the purification of the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. So whoever likes to look at the purification of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, let him look at this."
