Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 3:261

Abu Kurayb narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from Hisham, from Qatadah, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, from Ali, who said: He prepared food and invited the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). He (the Prophet) saw something in the house that had images on it, so he turned back. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what made you turn back? May my father and mother be sacrificed for you." He said, "There is a curtain in the house that has images on it, and the angels do not enter a house that has images in it."
