Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 3:27

Zuhayr narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Amr, from Abdullah ibn Salamah, from Ali, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would come out from the privy and recite the Quran and eat meat with us. Nothing would prevent him or hinder him from the Quran except for janabah (major ritual impurity).
