Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 3:287

Abu Musa narrated to us, Abu 'Asim narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, Ibn Shihab informed me, from 'Ali ibn al-Husayn, from his father, from 'Ali, who said: I obtained a she-camel as part of the spoils of Badr with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) gave me a she-camel. I made them kneel at the door of a man from the Ansar, intending to load them with *idhkhir* (fragrant grass) to sell it, and with me was a goldsmith man from Banu Qaynuqa'. 'Ali said: I was seeking his help for the wedding feast of Fatimah. Hamza ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib was in the house drinking, and with him was a singing girl who was singing to him, saying: "O Hamza, for the fat young camels!" He (Hamza) rushed toward them with a sword, cut off their humps, slit their flanks, and took from their livers. I said to Ibn Shihab: "And what about the hump?" He said: "He cut off their humps." He said: I looked at a matter that horrified me, so I came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and Zayd ibn Harithah was with him. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) went out, and Zayd ibn Harithah was with him, and I went out with him until he stood before Hamza. He said: He (the Prophet) became angry with him. He said: Hamza raised his gaze and said: "Are you anything but the slaves of my fathers?" He said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) then retreated, walking backward away from him.
