مسند علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه

Hadith 3:34

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, Nu'aym ibn Hakim narrated to us, from Abu Maryam, from Ali: That the wife of al-Walid ibn Uqba came to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, complaining that al-Walid was beating her. He said to her, "Go back and say to him: 'The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, has granted me protection.'" He said: So she departed and stayed for a while, then she came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, he did not desist from me." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, then cut a fringe from his garment and gave it to her, and said, "Say: 'The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, has granted me protection; this is a fringe from his garment.'" She stayed for a while, then she returned and said, "O Messenger of Allah, he has only increased in beating me." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, raised his hands and said, "O Allah, deal with al-Walid," (saying it) two or three times.
