Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, from Hujayyah ibn 'Adi, who said: A man came to 'Ali and said, "I have bought a cow." He said, "Slaughter it on behalf of seven." He said, "It has a broken horn." He said, "It does not harm you." He said, "It is lame." He said, "If it reaches the place of sacrifice, then slaughter it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded us to examine the eye and the ear."
