Hadith 3:91
Ubayd Allah ibn Umar narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Dawud narrated to us, from Nu’aym ibn Hakim, from Abu Maryam, from Ali, who said: The wife of al-Walid ibn Uqbah came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "Indeed, al-Walid beats me." He said: "Say to him: 'The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, has granted me protection.'" Ali said: She did not tarry but a little while until she returned and said: "He only increased in beating me." So he took a fringe from his garment and gave it to her, and said: "Say to him: 'The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, has granted me protection.'" She did not tarry but a little while until she returned to him and said: "He only increased in beating me." So he raised his hands and said: "O Allah, it is upon You to deal with al-Walid."
