Hadith 105:34
Ibrahim narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Ata’ al-Khurasani, from Yahya ibn Ya’mar, from Ammar ibn Yasir, that he said: I arrived at my family’s home at night from a journey, and my hands had become cracked, so they smeared me with saffron. I went in the morning to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and greeted him, but he did not return the greeting to me and did not welcome me. He said: "Go and wash this off of you." So I went and washed it off, then I came and greeted him, and he returned the greeting to me and welcomed me. He said: "Indeed, the angels do not attend the funeral of a disbeliever with goodness, nor one who is smeared with saffron, nor one who is in a state of major ritual impurity (junub)." And he granted a concession for the one who is in a state of major ritual impurity, if he wishes to sleep, eat, or drink, that he should perform ablution (wudu).
