Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 152:109

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from ‘Umarah—meaning from al-Harith ibn Suwayd—who said: I entered upon ‘Abdullah to visit him while he was ill, and he narrated to us two hadiths: a hadith about himself and a hadith about the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). He said: "Indeed, the believer sees his sins as if he is at the base of a mountain, fearing that it might fall upon him. And indeed, the wicked person sees his sins like a fly that passed by his nose, so he waved it away from him." He said: And I heard the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) saying: "Allah is more joyful with the repentance of His believing servant than a man in a desolate, destructive land who has his riding beast with him, upon which is his food and his drink. He slept, then awoke, and it had gone. He stood up searching for it, and he searched for it until thirst overcame him. Then he said: 'I will return to my place where I was, until I die.' He placed his head upon his forearm to die, then he awoke, and his riding beast was with him, with his provisions, his food, and his drink upon it. So Allah is more joyful with the repentance of His servant than this man is with his riding beast and his provisions."
