Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 152:114

Continuation of the Musnad of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA)

Hadith 152:114

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from 'Umarah ibn al-Qa'qa', from Abu Zur'ah, who said: A companion of ours narrated to us, from 'Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Nothing transmits [disease] to anything else," three times. A Bedouin among the people said: "O Messenger of Allah, what about a camel that is among a large herd of camels, and it develops a sore on its tail or its lip, and then all the camels develop mange?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Then who gave the first one mange?" Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is no [inherent] contagion, no evil omens, no [superstition regarding the month of] Safar, and no [superstition regarding the] owl. Allah created every soul and wrote its life, its provision, and its calamities."
