Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from al-Hakam, from Dharr, from Wa'il ibn Muhana, from Abdullah, from the Prophet (peace be upon him), that he said to the women: "Give charity, for you are the majority of the people of the Fire." A woman who was not from the elite of the women said: "Why, or for what, or by what [reason] are we [so]?" He said: "You curse frequently and you are ungrateful to the spouse. There is no one deficient in intellect and religion who is more overwhelming to men of sound judgment than you." It was said: "What is the deficiency of her intellect?" He said: "The testimony of two women is made equal to the testimony of one man." It was said: "What is the deficiency of her religion?" He said: "She remains—I do not know how many days—not praying."
