Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from al-Walid ibn al-Ayzar, who said: I heard Abu 'Amr al-Shaybani saying: The owner of this house narrated to me—and he pointed with his hand toward the house of Abdullah, and he did not name him—he said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, which deeds are most beloved to Allah?" He said, "Prayer at its appointed times." I said, "Then what?" He said, "Then honoring the parents." I said, "Then what?" He said, "Then striving in the way of Allah."
