Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 152:222

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Yazid bin Harun narrated to us, Hammad bin Salama narrated to us, from Thabit, from Anas, from Ibn Mas’ud, from the Prophet (peace be upon him) who said: "Indeed, the last person to enter Paradise is a man who walks upon the Bridge (al-Sirat); he stumbles once and walks once, and the Fire lashes him once. When he crosses the Bridge, he turns toward it and says: 'Blessed is He who saved me from you. He has given me what He has not given anyone among the first and the last.' Then a tree is raised for him, and he looks at it and says: 'O my Lord, bring me near to this tree so that I may seek shade in its shade and drink from its water.' He says: 'O My servant, perhaps if I bring you near it, you will ask Me for another.' He says: 'No, O my Lord,' and he makes a covenant with Him that he will not ask Him for another. The Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He, knows that he will ask Him, because he sees what he has no patience for, so He brings him near to it. Then a tree is raised for him that is better than it, and he says: 'O my Lord, bring me near to this tree so that I may seek shade in its shade and drink from its water.' He says: 'O My servant, did you not covenant with Me that you would not ask Me for another?' He says: 'O my Lord, this one, and I will not ask You for another.' So He brings him near to it. Then a tree is raised for him at the gate of Paradise that is better than it, and he says: 'O my Lord, bring me near to this tree so that I may seek shade in its shade and drink from its water.' He says: 'O My servant, did you not covenant with Me that you would not ask Me for another?' He says: 'O my Lord, this one, and I will not ask You for another.' So he makes a covenant with Him, and the Lord knows that he will ask Him for another, because he sees what he has no patience for, so He brings him near to it. Then he hears the voices of the people of Paradise, and he says: 'O my Lord, Paradise, Paradise!' He says: 'O My servant, did you not covenant with Me that you would not ask Me for another?' He says: 'O my Lord, admit me into Paradise.' The Blessed and Exalted says: 'What will satisfy Me regarding you, O My servant? Would it please you if I gave you the world and the like of it with it?' He said: 'He says: "Are You mocking me, while You are the Lord of Might?"'" ‘Abdullah laughed until his molars appeared, then he said: "Will you not ask me why I laughed?" They said: "Why did you laugh?" He said: "Because of the laughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)."
