Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Uthman ibn Umar narrated to us, Dawud ibn Abi al-Furat narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Zayd, from Abu al-A'yan al-'Abdi, from Abu al-Ahwas al-Jushami, that Ibn Mas'ud narrated to them: That they asked the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, about the monkeys and the swine: "Are they from the offspring of the Jews?" The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Indeed, Allah did not curse a people and transform them, such that they would have offspring, until He destroys them. But this was a creation that existed; so when Allah became angry with the Jews, He transformed them, and they became like them."
