Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 152:27

Abdullah ibn Umar al-Qawariri narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, Mu'tamir narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu Ubaydah ibn Abdullah, from Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, that some people came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "Our companion has fallen ill, shall we cauterize him?" He said: He remained silent for a while, then he said: "If you wish, cauterize him, and if you wish, use a heated stone on him."
