Hadith 152:293
Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib informed us, from Murrah al-Hamadani, from Abdullah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "Our Lord, Blessed and Exalted is He, marvels at two men: A man who rose from his quilt and his bed, from among his tribe and his family, to his prayer. So Allah says to His angels: 'O My angels, look at this servant of Mine; he rose from his bed and his quilt, from among his tribe and his family, to his prayer, out of desire for what is with Me and out of fear of what is with Me.' And a man who fought in the way of Allah, and his companions fled, and he knew what was upon him in fleeing and what was for him in returning, so he returned until his blood was shed. So Allah says to His angels: 'Look at this servant of Mine; he returned out of desire for what is with Me and out of fear of what is with Me.'"
