Hadith 152:298

And from Hammad, who said: 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib informed us, from Ibn Adhnan, who said: I lent Alqama two thousand dirhams. When his stipend (ata') came out, I said to him, "Pay me back." He said, "Delay me until next year." I refused him, and I took it from him. He said: I came to him after that, and he said, "You have troubled me, and you have withheld [the money] from me." I said, "Yes, it is your own action." He said, "What is my matter?" I said, "You narrated to me from Ibn Mas'ud that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: 'Indeed, the loan (al-salaf) runs in the course of half of charity.'" He said, "Yes, it is indeed so." He said, "Then take it now."

وعن حماد أخبرنا عطاء بن السائب عن بن أذنان قال * أسلفت علقمة ألفي درهم فلما خرج عطاؤه قلت له أقضني قال أخرني إلى قابل قال فأبيت عليه فأخذتها منه قال فأتيته بعد ذلك فقال برحت بي وقد منعتني فقلت نعم هو عملك قال فما شأني قلت إنك حدثتني عن بن مسعود أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال إن السلف يجري مجرى شطر الصدقة قال نعم فهو كذلك قال فخذ الأن
