And from ‘Affan: Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, he said: I heard Abu Ishaq narrating from ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid, who said: We performed Hajj with Ibn Mas‘ud until, when the first of the dawn appeared, he stood and prayed the morning prayer. I said to him: "You did not use to pray this prayer at this hour," and he used to perform the prayer when it was bright.
