Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 152:4

'Abd al-Ghaffar narrated to us, 'Ali bin Mushir narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Shaqiq, from 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud, who said: It is as if I am looking at the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) narrating [the story of] a prophet from among the prophets whom his people struck until they made his face bleed. He began wiping the blood from his face while saying: "My Lord, forgive my people, for they do not know."
