Hadith 152:84
Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Jarir narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from Abu Sa’d al-Azdi, from Abu al-Kunud, who said: I struck a man from the nobles of Persia on the day of Mihran. I brought his spoils to the authority. I took a ring of his made of gold, and it was seen on my hand. I said: "If I go out to the land of the Persians and something happens to me, it will be of benefit." I entered upon Abdullah [ibn Mas'ud] while it was on my hand. He said: "What is this ring?" I narrated the story to him. He took it from me, put it in his mouth, chewed it, and then threw it to me. Then he said: "The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade the gold ring."
