Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 154:94

Abu Hammam narrated to us, Abd al-Rahim narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq informed us, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Na'im, the freed slave of Umm Salamah, who said: Abdullah ibn Umar went out for Hajj. When he was between Makkah and Madinah, he came to a tree he recognized and sat beneath it. Then he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) under this tree when a young man approached from this mountain pass until he stood before the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have come to perform Jihad with you in the way of Allah, seeking thereby the Face of Allah and the Last Abode.' He (the Prophet) said: 'Are both of your parents alive?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Return and be dutiful to them.' He said: 'He turned back, returning from where he had come.'"
