Hadith 154:96
Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Asbat bin Muhammad narrated to us, al-A’mash narrated to us, from Abdullah bin Abdullah, from Sa’d the freed slave of Talha, from Ibn Umar, who said: I heard a hadith from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)—if I had not heard it except once or twice—until he counted seven times, and I have indeed heard it more than that—he said: There was a man named al-Kifl from the Children of Israel who would not refrain from any sin he committed. A woman came to him, and he gave her sixty dinars on the condition that he would have intercourse with her. When he sat in the position of a man with her, she trembled and wept. He said, "What makes you weep? Did I force you?" She said, "No, but this is an act I have never done before, and only necessity drove me to it." He said, "So you would do this, even though you have never done it before?" He then got up and said, "Go, and the dinars are yours." Then he said, "By Allah, al-Kifl will never disobey Allah again." He died that very night, and in the morning, it was written on his door: "Allah has forgiven al-Kifl."
