Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 161:52

Abu Kurayb Muhammad ibn al-Ala narrated to us, [saying] Rashdin ibn Sa’d narrated to us, from Mu’awiyah, from Mu’adh ibn Muhammad al-Ansari, from Ibn Sahban, from al-Abbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There is no retaliation (qisas) in the *ma'mumah* (a head wound reaching the membrane of the brain), nor in the *ja'ifah* (a wound reaching the body cavity), meaning: nor in the *munqilah* (a wound that displaces bone)."
