Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 161:53

Musa ibn Muhammad ibn Hayyan narrated to us, Sulayman ibn Dawud narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Dhi'b, from Ja'far ibn Tammam, from his grandfather al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib: That the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade branding on the face. Al-Abbas said: "I will not brand except on the buttocks."
