Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 161:54

Musa ibn Muhammad narrated to us, 'Isa ibn Ibrahim Abu 'Amr narrated to us, 'Afif ibn Salim narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Mu'adh ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from [a narrator] from Suhayban, from al-'Abbas ibn 'Abd al-Muttalib, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, saying: "There is no retaliation (qisas) in the *ja'ifah* (a wound reaching the body cavity), nor the *munqilah* (a wound that displaces a bone), nor the *ma'mumah* (a head wound reaching the brain membrane); rather, in them there is only the blood money (*'aql*)."
