Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 161:57

Ahmad ibn Isa narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Mu'adh ibn Muhammad al-Ansari, who said: Amr ibn Ma'di Karib informed me that a man from Banu Kinanah inflicted a *ma'mumah* (a head wound reaching the brain) upon a man. Umar ibn al-Khattab intended to exact retaliation (*qisas*) from him. Al-Abbas said to him: "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: 'There is no retaliation (*qisas*) for a *ma'mumah*, nor for a *ja'ifah* (a deep abdominal wound), nor for a *munqilah* (a wound that displaces bone).'" So he imposed the blood money (*'aql*) upon him.
