Al-Abbas ibn al-Walid al-Narsi narrated to us, Muslim ibn Khalid al-Zanji narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Sa’ib ibn Barakah narrated to us, from his mother, that she performed Tawaf with Aisha for three sets of seven [circuits]. Every time she completed seven [circuits], she sought refuge [in Allah] between the Door and the Stone, until she had completed two rak'ahs for every seven [circuits]. There were women with her, and they mentioned Hassan ibn Thabit in front of her and insulted him. She said, "Do not insult him, for he has already been afflicted by what Allah said to him: 'a great punishment' (An-Nur: 11), and he has become blind. By Allah, I hope that Allah will admit him into Paradise because of words he said to Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when he said to Abu Sufyan ibn al-Harith: 'You satirized Muhammad, so I answered on his behalf, and with Allah is the reward for that. For my father, his father, and my honor are a shield for the honor of Muhammad against you. Do you satirize him, while you are not a match for him? So may the best of you be a ransom for the best of you.'"
