Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 150:166

Al-Hasan ibn ‘Umar ibn Shaqiq ibn Asma’ al-Jarmi al-Basri narrated to us, Salama ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from Yahya ibn ‘Abbad ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr, from his father, from ‘Aisha, that she said: My baggage was light, and it was upon a swift camel. Safiyya’s baggage was heavy, and it was upon a heavy, slow camel that was slowing down the caravan. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Move ‘Aisha’s baggage onto Safiyya’s camel, and move Safiyya’s baggage onto ‘Aisha’s camel, so that the caravan may proceed." ‘Aisha said: When I saw that, I said: "Oh, servants of Allah! This Jewess has overcome us regarding the Messenger of Allah." She said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O Umm ‘Abd Allah, your baggage was light, and Safiyya’s baggage was heavy, so it slowed down the caravan. We moved her baggage onto your camel, and we moved your baggage onto her camel." She said: I said: "Are you not claiming that you are the Messenger of Allah?" She said: He smiled and said: "Are you in doubt, O Umm ‘Abd Allah?" She said: I said: "Are you not claiming that you are the Messenger of Allah? Then why did you not act justly?" Abu Bakr heard me, and he had *gharb*—meaning sharpness (of temper)—so he came toward me and slapped my face. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Gently, O Abu Bakr." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, did you not hear what she said?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, the jealous woman does not see the bottom of the valley from its top."
