Harun ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us, Amr informed me that Bakr ibn Sawadah narrated to him that Yazid ibn Abi Habib narrated to him, from Ubayd ibn Umayr, from Aisha, the wife of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), that a man recited this verse: "Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it" (An-Nisa: 123). He said: "We are recompensed for everything we do; we are ruined then." This reached the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), so he said: "Yes, the believer is recompensed for it in the world through his affliction in his body, in that which harms him."
