'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Qasim, from his father, from 'Aishah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) entered upon me from a journey, and I had screened myself with a *qiram* (a thin, patterned curtain) over a *sahwah* (a small alcove or shelf) of mine, which had images on it. When he saw it, he tore it with his hand and said: "The people who will receive the severest punishment from Allah on the Day of Resurrection are those who imitate the creation of Allah." 'Aishah said: So we cut it up and made from it one pillow or two pillows.
