Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 150:232

'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, Khalid bin 'Abdullah narrated to us, from Suhayl bin Abi Salih, from Sa'id bin Yasar, from Zayd bin Khalid, from Abu Talhah, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or statues." He said: So I said, "Let us go to 'Aishah and inform her of what Abu Talhah said." She said: "I do not know, but I will tell you what I saw him do. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out on one of his military expeditions, and I was waiting for his return. I took a patterned cloth of ours and covered the side [of the house] with it." She said: "When he arrived, I stood up and said, 'Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah. Praise be to Allah who honored you, granted you victory, and ennobled you.' She said: "He raised his head and looked at the cloth, and he did not reply to me with anything. I recognized the dislike on his face. He went and tore down the cloth, then said: 'O 'Aishah, Allah has not commanded us, regarding what He has provided us, to clothe stones and mud bricks.'" She said: "So I took it and made it into a pillow, and I stuffed it with palm fibers, and he did not criticize me for that."
