Surayj ibn Yunus narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abd Allah al-Ansari narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, [who said]: Sulayman ibn Musa informed me, from al-Zuhri, from Urwah, from Aisha, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A woman shall not marry except with the permission of her guardian. If she marries, then her marriage is void. If he has had intercourse with her, then she is entitled to her dowry for what he has obtained from her. And if they dispute, then the Sultan (ruler) is the guardian of the one who has no guardian."
