Musa ibn Muhammad ibn Hayyan narrated to us, Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Jabir ibn al-Subh, who said: Aminah and Zaynab, both of whom were his paternal aunts, narrated to me that they met 'Aishah among a group of women. A woman among the women asked her about beverages. She said: "I do not permit the *nabidh* (fermented drink) of the *hantam* (earthenware jar), nor the *naqir* (hollowed-out log), nor the *muzaffat* (pitch-coated vessel). And I do not forbid anything except what the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade."
