Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 150:30

Ishaq narrated to us, al-Nadr narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Sa'd, who said: I heard 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr say: 'Aishah said: We used to hear that a prophet does not die until he is given the choice between the world and the Hereafter. She said: And the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, during his illness in which he passed away, was seized by hoarseness. I heard him saying: "With those upon whom Allah has bestowed favor, among the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous; and excellent are those as companions" (An-Nisa'). So I knew that he was being given the choice.
