Hadith 150:4

Suwayd ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Ibn Abi Hazim narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Salamah, from 'Aishah, that she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) made an appointment with Gabriel (peace be upon them both) for an hour in which he would come to him. That hour came, and he did not come. In his hand was a staff, so he threw it from his hand and said, "Allah does not break His promise, nor do His messengers." Then he turned around, and there was a puppy under the bed. He said, "O 'Aishah, when did this dog enter here?" She said, "By Allah, I did not see it." He ordered it to be taken out, so it was taken out. Then Gabriel came, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "You made an appointment with me, so I sat for you, but you did not come." He said, "The dog that was in your house prevented me. We do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image."
