Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 150:41

Muhammad ibn 'Abbad al-Makki narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Urwah, from 'Aishah: That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to seek refuge from debt. So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I see you seeking refuge from debt." He said, "Yes. Indeed, when the debtor speaks, he lies, and when he promises, he breaks it."
