Continuation of the Hadith of Maymunah (RA), wife of the Prophet (SAW)

تابع حديث ميمونة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم

Hadith 217:21

Abu Khaythama narrated to us, Affan narrated to us, Abd al-Wahid ibn Ziyad narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Abdullah ibn al-Asamm narrated to us, from Yazid al-Asamm, who said: Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, became ill in Makkah, and there was no one from her brother’s sons with her. She said, "Take me out of Makkah, for I will not die in it. Indeed, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, informed me that I would not die in Makkah." He said: So they carried her until they brought her to Sarif, to the tree under which the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, had consummated the marriage with her, at the location of the tent. He said: So she died. When we placed her in her niche (lahd), I took my cloak and placed it under her cheek in the niche. Then Ibn Abbas took it and threw it away.
