Continuation of the Hadith of Maymunah (RA), wife of the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 217:23

Zuhayr narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Sulayman narrated to us, Sulayman ibn Kathir narrated to us, from Ibn Shihab, from 'Ubayd ibn al-Sabbaq, from Ibn 'Abbas, from Maymunah bint al-Harith, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) entered upon us one day, feeling languid. She said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, why do I see you languid?" He said, "Gabriel (peace be upon him) promised to come to me, and he did not break his promise." She said: So he remained that day and its night. She said: Then he suspected a puppy that was under a piece of furniture of theirs belonging to al-Husayn. He ordered it to be taken out, and he ordered water, so he sprinkled its place with his hand. She said: Then he went out, and there was Gabriel (peace be upon him). He said, "You promised to come to me." Gabriel (peace be upon him) said, "We do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image." The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) ordered the killing of dogs, to the extent that he would be spoken to regarding the small dog of a garden wall, and he would not permit it.
