Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 217:4

Continuation of the Hadith of Maymunah (RA), wife of the Prophet (SAW)

Hadith 217:4

Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Mukharrimi narrated to us, Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abi al-Furat—and he is Ibn Dinar al-Tahi—narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Abi Hafsah, from al-Zuhri, from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah, from Ibn Abbas, from Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) woke up in the morning feeling heavy (distressed/unwell), then he reached the evening in that same state, and then he woke up the next morning in that same state. She said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, why do I see you feeling heavy?" He said, "Gabriel (peace be upon him) promised to come to me, and he did not break his promise." She said: So they looked, and there was a puppy under a piece of furniture of theirs. The Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered that place, and it was washed with water. She said: Then Gabriel (peace be upon him) came to him. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to him, "You promised to come to me, and you did not break your promise." Gabriel (peace be upon him) said to him, "Did you not know that we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image?"
