Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 111:118

Zuhayr narrated to us, Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq narrated to us, Ibn al-Mubarak informed us, Husayn ibn Abd Allah ibn Ubayd Allah ibn Abbas informed us, from Ikrimah, from Ibn Abbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the *naqir* (hollowed-out log), the *duba'* (gourd), and the *muzaffat* (pitch-coated vessel). He said: "Do not drink except from a vessel." So they made vessels from camel skins and attached necks to them made from sheep skins. This reached him, so he said: "Do not drink except from that which has its top [open] from it."
