Hadith 111:36
Ubayd Allah ibn Umar narrated to us, Bishr narrated to us, he said: Abdullah ibn Uthman informed us, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Mulaykah, Dhakwan narrated to me that Ibn Abbas came seeking permission to enter upon Aisha while she was in the throes of death. He said: I came, and at her head was Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr. I said: "This is Ibn Abbas seeking permission to enter upon you." She said: "Leave me be regarding Ibn Abbas, for I have no need of him nor of his purification." Abdullah said: "O mother, indeed Abdullah ibn Abbas is among the righteous of your sons; he wishes to greet you." She said: "Give him permission if you wish." Ibn Abbas came and sat down, then said: "Rejoice, for by Allah, there is nothing between you and departing from every hardship and meeting Muhammad and the beloved ones, except that your soul departs from your body." She said: "Say more, O Ibn Abbas." He said: "You were the most beloved of the wives of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) would not love anything except that which is pure. Your necklace fell at al-Abwa, and the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) remained in the place searching for it, and the people awoke having no water with them. Then Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, revealed: 'Then perform tayammum with pure earth,' and that was because of you, from the concession that Allah revealed for this nation. Then Allah revealed your innocence from above seven heavens, and there is no mosque among the mosques of Allah where Allah is remembered, except that your innocence is recited therein during the hours of the night and the hours of the day." She said: "Leave me be, O Ibn Abbas, for by Allah, I wish that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight."
