Hadith 109:112
Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Mawsili narrated to us, Abd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafi narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from his father, from Jabir, who said: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would deliver a sermon, his eyes would redden, his voice would rise, and his anger would intensify, as if he were a warner of an army, saying: "They have come upon you in the morning and in the evening." He would say: "I and the Hour have been sent like these two," and he would join his index and middle fingers. He would say: "To proceed: The best speech is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (ﷺ). The worst of affairs are the newly invented ones, and every innovation is a misguidance." Then he would say: "I am closer to every believer than his own self. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his family, and whoever leaves behind a debt or dependents, they are to me and upon me."
