Musnad Abu Ya'la al-Mawsili 109:183

Uqbah narrated to us, Yunus narrated to us, Sulayman al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A time will surely come upon the people when an army from among their armies will go forth, and it will be said: 'Is there anyone among you who accompanied Muhammad?' So you will seek victory through him, and you will be granted victory. Then it will be said: 'Is there anyone among you who accompanied those who accompanied Muhammad?' And it will be said: 'No.' Then it will be said: 'Is there anyone who saw those who accompanied those who accompanied Muhammad?' And it will be said: 'No.' Then it will be said: 'Is there anyone who saw those who saw those who accompanied those who accompanied Muhammad?' And if they were to hear of him from beyond the sea, they would come to him."
